YOUR SESSION

From start to finish

Step 1:

SCHEDULING YOUR SESSION

If we haven’t already, the easiest way to schedule a date for your session is for you to eMail or call me with a few dates that work for the two of you. I always try to be as flexible as possible and once we find a date, booking is 100% online and takes just a few minutes. Here a few things to consider as you pull out your calendar:

  • In Home sessions will take place in the mornings, starting between 9am and 10am, as homes tend to be lit best during this time of the day.
  • Outdoor sessions take place in the evening approximately one hour before sunset, to guarantee beautiful light and atmosphere, the same is true for a sunrise session, if you prefer to have your pictures taken in the early morning.
  • Weekend dates are limited and popular and thus incur a CHF 100 charge in addition to your choice of collections.
  • If you have a special date or holiday by which you need prints or gifts (ie Valentines Day/ Birthdays/ Anniversary), be sure to book a date at least 6-8 weeks in advance of that date to ensure sufficient processing and printing time.

Beautiful photographs, capturing your love, can be made in any kind of weather. However I will reschedule the session, when it’s raining.

In order to reserve a date, you will sign some paperwork and pay the session fee of CHF 500. (Signing the contract can be done online- no need to do any printing and scanning. The session fee will be settled online via credit card.)

The fee covers:

  • preparing your customized session
  • my time at the session
  • curating and editing ALL the images in your personal online gallery
  • creating your slideshow
  • the session for you and  your partner

Please keep in mind that in case of cancellation the session fee will not be refunded. However I am happy to reschedule your session to the next available date.

Step 2:

THE SESSION

Once we have decided on a time and date and officially put your session on the books, I will send you a link to your client lounge as well as to the questionnaire.

The client lounge will walk you through everything from choosing your outfit and location to strategies for getting the two of you ready for the session. This guide has been created and refined over years of experience, so it typically answers most questions that come up, however if you need additional help I urge you to get in touch with me, as I want you to feel totally comfortable and at ease during the session.

The questionnaire helps me to prepare the session, create a unique experience and capture what is most important to you.

Next I will help you choose your outfit and we will decide on the perfect location for your session (outdoor session).

A few days before our session is scheduled, I will reach out to confirm our time and location… at that point, if the forecast is questionable or someone seems to be coming down with the flu, we can talk about rescheduling options. Otherwise, that’s the perfect time to ask any last minute questions you might have.

Finally take a deep breath and relax. I will lead the session and I will handle everything (including kids meltdowns and camera shy dads). I will be gently guiding you along and then... just let the magic unfold. We will capture unposed moments, but they have been brought about with intention. All you have to do is embrace this moment in your life and everything that is a part of it.

Step 3:

THE FUN PART

Within 4 weeks of your session, you will receive an eMail from me, letting you know that your photos are ready for viewing.

And here is where I do things a bit differently: Rather than just sending you a link to some digital files, I feel that your images and you deserve more than that… That is why I take the time to create a cinematic slideshow  for you.

Once you have had a chance to see all your images and marvel for a bit, the next step is to decide on a collection that best meets your needs.

After that, you will have a full month to select the specific digital files and pick some of the beautiful print items I offer, to turn your images into pieces of art and tangible memories.

If you are like me and like to see and feel things like album covers and paper types in person, I am more than happy to show you samples of all the products I offer. Indulging myself into paper types, wall galleries, fabrics and colors for albums and helping you choose the perfect prints is one of my favorite parts of the job.

Total for your session: Session fee + Collection

What you are going to do with your images is perhaps the most important aspect to consider when you are planning for a photo session, but it is all too often the aspect that is overlooked… all that time and money invested deserve a better return than gathering dust on a hard drive somewhere. The truth is you will never get the same feeling looking at your photos on a screen as you will seeing them on your wall or flipping through the pages of an album.

That is why I include a substantial print credit with every collection. So you can experience your memories not just as fleeting files, but in a tangible way, as true pieces of art.
